Judy Davis stars as a backup singer for an Elvis impersonator who gets stranded one day at a trailer park in a seaside town. She’s confronted with the daughter she abandoned long ago, and the chance at redemption from a life of failure.
Judy Davis and Claudia Carvan (as Ally, her daughter) shine in this film. It’s moving, and has great atmosphere. One of the best films to come from Australia in the 80’s.
